ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY PROGRAM
Next cleanup date to be determined
Thanks volunteers for helping out July 26!
Holy Cross has adopted a stretch of northbound Highway 9, milepost 14 through 16, which is just south of Hewitt and to the north to Frontier Village. The Evangelism Committee encourages everyone who is eligible and able to participate in keeping our street clean! To participate, Holy Cross members and friends must be 15 years or older and complete a brief training session, which includes the viewing of a video.  The committee plans to combine work with fun with an after clean-up event. This is an excellent opportunity for youth who need community service hours for high school.

CELEBRATING 25 YEARS: GOD'S WORK, OUR JOURNEY
The community is welcome to join Holy Cross in celebrating 25 years as a congregation within the Lake Stevens-area community!

It is with great honor and gratitude we recognize the clergy who have answered God’s call to serve Holy Cross for 25 years.

   Rev. Ernie Pihl    1981 ~ 1996
Rev. John Otto Liljenstolpe, Interim      1996
   Rev. Emery Rohde, Interim      1996
   Rev. Jim Johnson         1996 ~ 2000
   Rev. Susan Kirlin-Hackett         2000 ~

As part of Holy Cross’ 25th anniversary celebration, $2,500 is being raised for the ELCA Good Gifts program, “ELCA World Hunger: God’s global barnyard.”

Animals provide families with food, funds, and fertilizer, breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty. Cows are especially valued. In some parts of Africa cows are a family’s security and bank account. Goats can survive in drought-striken areas by eating drought-resistant shrubs and grass. Animal-related development projects are an important part of ELCA World Hunger’s comprehensive and life-saving efforts. Your gifts to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal for God’s global barnyard go beyond livestock to provide training, access to safe water sources, help securing markets, and much more.

The $2,500 will contribute:

10 flocks of chicks        10 pigs
    10 turkeys                    1 cistern
    2 cows                         1 fish farm
    5 goats                      42 jugs
